6 great experiences in Arosa in winter

winter in Arosa

Arosa lies at 1800 meters above sea level in the middle of a beautiful mountain landscape. Due to its high altitude, Arosa is the perfect place for all kinds of winter sports and is always a wonderful winter wonderland with many hours of sunshine.

This wonderful winter destination in Switzerland is located in the canton of Graubünden. Arosa is an ingenious vacation paradise in the mountains and is beautiful in both summer and winter. Today we are talking about 6 great experiences in Arosa in winter.

1st Ice Hockey - EHC Arosa

An EHC Arosa ice h ockey match is always an experience. The club was founded in 1924 and has won the championship title nine times, seven of them in a row. This puts it in third place in the national rankings to this day.

Supporting the legendary Arosa ice hockey club at a home match is a must-do for winter beginners. The atmosphere in the stadium, the motivated players on the ice and the delicious bratwurst round off the experience. Hopp Arosa, hopp Arosa!

2. sledging

Whether on a classic wooden sledge or a modern bobsleigh: in Arosa you can sledge for all you're worth. Fun is pre-programmed and guaranteed on three toboggan runs with a total length of 4.7 kilometers.

You can reach the Prätschli - Scheitenböden - Obersee toboggan run either on foot or by bus. Take the bus to the Prätschli terminus and walk past Honigland to the toboggan run.

You can reach the Tschuggenberg - Innerarosa piste with the Kulm gondola lift in Innerarosa or you can take the Arosa Weisshorn cable car to the middle station and walk a short distance past the Sternenbar to the Tschuggenhütte.

The third toboggan run Untersee - Litzirüti is a more leisurely toboggan run in contrast to the two runs mentioned above. It starts at Untersee and ends at Litzirüti. Therefore, you also take the Rhaetian Railway for the way back to Arosa.

3. ice skating

Ice skating is also popular in Arosa. The Ochsenbühl artificial ice rink is located in the Ochsenbühl parking lot, right next to the Arosa Sports and Congress Center. Curling and ice stock can also be played on request.

4. squirrel path

The squirrel trail in Arosa is always a great experience in both summer and winter and is particularly popular with families. The little animals are so tame that they will eat out of your hand.

Incidentally, squirrels particularly like unshelled nuts so that they can open them themselves with their teeth. However, almonds and peanuts can be harmful to squirrels. That's why the Congress Center has tree nut bags especially for the Squirrel Trail.

By the way, it's not just squirrels that like to be fed. The little sparrows and tits will also eat from your hand if there is a nut in it. Even the big nutcrackers will come if you hold out your open hand vertically with the nut.

5th leisurely carriage ride

What could be nicer than strolling through the snowy winter landscape in a cozy carriage? A carriage ride through the Arlenwald forest is a wonderful experience and offers unique moments of togetherness. The carriages are waiting for you at Arosa railroad station.

6th Eisbadi - Untersee

Do you love a challenge and are looking for that little bit extra after skiing? The Eisbadi Arosa has a bathing area and a sauna trolley to provide the necessary variety alongside snow sports. Off into the cold water!
