"THE BEST SKI RESORT IN THE WORLD: AROSA LENZERHEIDE"

Major award for the Arosa Lenzerheide ski resort
Just in time for the start of the winter season, the Omio booking platform tested 6,000 ski resorts and chose a winner—Arosa Lenzerheide!

The best ski resort in the world is Arosa Lenzerheide
The Arosa Lenzerheide ski resort has been one of the most popular and versatile ski resorts in Switzerland for many years. Now, the largest resort in the canton of Graubünden, with 225 kilometers of slopes, has also won an international award. The booking platform Omio took a close look at ski resorts around the world ahead of the start of the 2024/25 winter season. Their conclusion: the best ski resort in the world is Arosa Lenzerheide! The evaluation summary states: "Arosa Lenzerheide has some of the best ski slopes in the world and is the perfect place for groups of all skill levels." The ski schools, mountain railways, and diverse range of events were also highlighted positively. In terms of numbers, this means that Arosa Lenzerheide achieved a total score of 91.73 points (out of 100), putting it ahead of Sölden and Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, both in Austria. AL is also in the top 10 in the subcategories "most sociable ski resort," "most family-friendly ski resort," and "best ski resort for experienced skiers and beginners." Accordingly, there was no way around Arosa Lenzerheide in the overall ranking.

Award provides additional motivation
The award provides additional motivation on both sides of the mountain just before the start of the 2024/25 winter season. Depending on the weather, the first turns in the ski area can be made as early as November during the November high. What is certain is that the official start of the winter season will be on November 30. Both Arosa and Lenzerheide will then offer perfectly groomed slopes for every skill level. With a wide range of activities and numerous highlights, the largest ski resort in Graubünden offers special snow fun for young and old, professionals and beginners alike.

How the rating was determined
Omio has created a comprehensive data index for 6,000 ski resorts, taking into account a variety of relevant factors for winter sports destinations. Among other things, the length of the ski slopes (divided into red, blue, and black slopes), Google reviews, ski pass prices (adult, youth, and child rates), the number of ski lifts, the availability of ski schools, and planned events were evaluated. Using a proportional scoring system, each factor was assigned a rating, with the best result in each category receiving 100 points. The scores were scaled accordingly, so that a value of, for example, 5 points out of a possible maximum of 15 in a category was adjusted to 33 out of 100 points. This methodology ensures that the ski resorts can be directly compared.
