“THE BEST SKI AREA IN THE WORLD: AROSA LENZERHEIDE”

Great news for the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area
: The Omio booking platform evaluated 6,000 ski areas just in time for the start of the winter season and selected a winner—Arosa Lenzerheide!

The best ski area in the world is Arosa Lenzerheide
The Arosa Lenzerheide ski area has been one of the most popular and diverse ski areas in the country for many years. Spanning 225 kilometers, the largest ski area in the canton of Graubünden has now also been honored with an international award. The Omio booking platform has evaluated ski areas worldwide ahead of the 2024/25 winter season. Their conclusion: The best ski area in the world is Arosa Lenzerheide! The review states: “Arosa Lenzerheide boasts some of the best ski slopes in the world and is the perfect destination for groups of all skill levels.” The ski schools, mountain railways, and the diverse range of events were also highlighted positively. In terms of scores, this means that Arosa Lenzerheide achieved a total score of 91.73 points (out of 100). It thus outperformed Sölden and Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, both in Austria. AL also ranks in the top 10 in the subcategories “most sociable ski area,” “most family-friendly ski area,” and “best ski area for experienced skiers and beginners.” Accordingly, Arosa Lenzerheide was unbeatable in the overall ranking.

Award inspires
The award provides an extra incentive on both sides of the mountain just before the start of the 2024/25 winter season. Depending on the weather, the first runs in the ski area can be enjoyed as part of the November high. What is certain is that November 30 marks the official start of the winter season. In both Arosa and Lenzerheide, perfectly groomed slopes for every skill level attract visitors. With a wide range of offerings and numerous highlights, the large ski area in Graubünden offers special snow fun for young and old, experts and beginners alike.

This is how the evaluation was conducted
Omio has created a comprehensive data index for 6,000 ski areas, which takes into account a variety of factors relevant to winter sports destinations. Among other things, the length of ski runs (divided into red, blue, and black runs), Google reviews, prices for ski passes (adult, youth, and child rates), the number of ski lifts, the availability of ski schools, and planned events were evaluated. Using a proportional scoring system, each factor was assigned a rating; the best score in each category received 100 points. The scores were scaled accordingly so that a value of, for example, 5 points out of a possible maximum of 15 in a category was adjusted to 33 out of 100 points. This methodology ensures direct comparability of ski areas.
